When it comes to everyday life, St Johns Hill makes it easy with Rest Home, Hospital, Day Programme, Respite, Intermediate and Palliative Care. The well-appointed rooms overlook the Whanganui River and surrounding countryside and come complete with a nurse call system and WiFi.

Part of the close-knit town of Whanganui, St Johns Hill is set amongst beautifully landscaped gardens, just a short drive from the town centre, where you’ll find all the essentials, including a pharmacy and library.

We offer everything from physiotherapy to podiatry and hairdressing. We have a range of recreational activities including happy hour and board games. Our Care Home van is also always on hand for outings.

Levels of care

Rest Home Care

If you or a loved one have a medical condition or are less able to lead an independent life, our Rest Home living offers dedicated 24/7 care from our team of registered nurses and trained carers.

Hospital Care

If you or a loved one suffer from significant disabilities or medical conditions, particularly where the loss of cognitive abilities is a recognised factor, our Hospital Care could be just what you’re looking for.

Day Programme

If you or your loved one would enjoy some company and activities now and again, many of our Rest Homes invite locals who may be considering a Rest Home to come and enjoy our Day Programme.

Respite Care

Heritage Lifecare Respite services provide carers with a much needed short-term break. It is different from our Day Programme service as it allows guests to stay under our care for more than a day and up to a couple of weeks.

Palliative Care

When the time comes that Palliative Care is required, you can be rest assured that Heritage Lifecare will go above and beyond to provide the caring and sympathetic Palliative Care needed by people who are reaching the end of their lives.

We have a range of services and activities at St Johns Hill Lifecare, suitable for residents at all different stages. Our trained staff are always there to help and encourage residents and make sure they feel safe and comfortable. Also ensuring there are suitable health and wellbeing services available for residents at our Care Home.

Additional Daily Accommodation Charges

We are pleased to be able to offer residents coming into our homes a range of premium room options. The premium room options provide intending residents with choices to suit their individual preferences, e.g. a full en-suite, semi ensuite, larger room or unique view.

A Premium Room Accommodation Charge is a fee that you pay in addition to your Daily Care Fee. The amount of additional charge depends on your rooms features, and this varies based on the premium room features and by Care Home location. Accommodation Premium Room charges range from: $17 to $35*.
