​Stephanie started as Manager at Karina Lifecare on Remembrance Day, November 2020.

Originally from the Hawkes Bay, she has worked as a Registered Nurse in aged care for over 10 years, moving to Palmerston North in 2019 to work for Presbyterian Support Central.

Stephanie says, “I love working here at Karina. It used to be three houses, so it has an incredibly homely feel.”

Stephanie thinks the staff are amazing, and they are always coming up with activities that the residents can be involved in. “We always make sure that the residents make all the decisions about what we do. We plan around their needs and wishes, not ours,” she says.

Celebrating successes is also a big part of the ‘Karina Family’ way. “Last week we celebrated one of our residents’ becoming a Great Grandfather and also one of our staff passing an exam on the same day,” says Stephanie.

Stephanie couldn’t imagine doing anything else, saying, “I’ve lost my grandparents, and now I come to work every day in a place full of wonderful people like them, who I can help enjoy A Better Everyday.
